The first Hongqi SUV may appear in Russia
Hongqi unveiled its first SUV at the Beijing Auto Show. The model was developed in response to the growing global demand for "square" hybrid SUVs with a brutal design, the Izvestia correspondent reported on April 24 from China. The model may also appear on the Russian market.
The dimensions of the car are 5,120 mm long, 2,050 mm wide and 1,960 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The SUV is equipped with a REEV powerplant, which works solely as a generator to recharge the battery.
Four independent electric motors (one for each wheel) They provide all-wheel drive and vector traction control. The total peak output is 831 hp (1200 Nm). The power reserve in hybrid mode reaches 1,350 km, and the car can travel 280 km on electric power (according to the CLTC cycle).
The model also has front and rear differential locks, and lidar on the roof indicates an advanced semi-autonomous driving system.
"Given Hongqi's active international expansion and the high demand for powerful SUVs in our country, the appearance of a new flagship SUV in the Russian market remains likely," representatives of the brand's Russian office said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that at the China Auto Show, the Xpeng brand presented the GX full-size crossover at the Beijing Auto Show, which resembles the British Range Rover SUV; BMW unveiled the updated 7 Series sedan, and Nio demonstrated the ES9 crossover, which may become the largest representative of the SUV segment in the Chinese market.
