The expert spoke about the need to protect the creative industries
Businesses operating in the creative industries "critically need financial and legal protection," said Konstantin Agula, Director of Government Relations at Avito Services.
"To make cooperation transparent, Avito is testing a partner service for secure transactions for services. The payment amount is frozen on the platform until the job is fully accepted. This removes the main fears of the market: the client is guaranteed to receive a high-quality result, and the freelancer knows for sure that his work will be paid for. This tool makes going into creative freelancing as safe as possible," he said during the Student TEFI.
According to him, Avito Services has seen a noticeable surge in supply and demand in the creative industries. "Services for various types of video shooting have grown by an average of 20-30% over the year. Animation is a powerful driver (+43% per year) and design. For example, interest in image generation by neural networks has skyrocketed almost sixfold, and in corporate identity development by 4.6 times," Agula said.
According to Avito, the specificity of the creative economy lies in the fact that the lion's share of the market (over 70%) is held by sole proprietors and freelancers. Digital platforms provide specialists with direct access to orders, turning what started as a side job into a stable basic income.
At the same time, the Russian creative market is uneven: 75% of the volume is accounted for by IT development, advertising, gastronomy, performing arts and architecture. Areas such as design, fashion, music, and video games occupy a smaller share. This is where young talents can quickly take leadership positions.
"We see a huge mutual interest between performers and businesses. In a number of segments, demand significantly exceeds supply, which is an ideal moment to start. The government shares this optimism: development programs are being launched and creative clusters are being built. Big business also does not stand aside," Agula concluded.
