The expert named the maximum amount of sick leave payments upon dismissal.
Upon dismissal, Russians can receive benefits in the amount of 60% of average earnings if the employee falls ill and takes sick leave within a month from the date of dismissal. This was announced on April 24 by the expert of the Presidential Academy Tatiana Podolskaya.
"If a person quits, gets sick and takes sick leave within 30 days from the date of his dismissal, then he is entitled to disability benefits in the amount of 60% of average earnings (regardless of work experience)," she said in an interview with TASS.
Podolskaya clarified that this does not apply to sick leave taken to care for family members.
In addition, according to the expert, if an employee falls ill on one of his last working days in the organization, and the dismissal procedure has already been started, then the amount of his payment will be calculated based on his insurance record. With accumulated experience of eight years or more, the payment will be equal to the full average earnings, with experience from five to eight years — 80%, less than five years — 60%.
The maximum amount of the daily allowance in 2026 is 6827.46 rubles, Podolskaya said.
On April 20, Tatyana Butskaya, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, said that Russians who simultaneously work under an employment contract and a civil law contract can receive double sick leave. She noted that if a citizen works under several civil law contracts, sick leave is paid once, based on the total average earnings. The employee decides for himself which customer to choose for registration.
