- The OP of the Russian Federation warned about a wave of fraud on the eve of school exams
Scammers begin to involve teenagers in their schemes in late April and early May during preparation for writing state exams. This was announced on April 24 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws and other regulations.
"During this period of time, students actively use various resources for preparation and successful completion, including phishing links. The most important thing during this period of time is parental care and control," Masharov told RIA Novosti.
The expert noted that teenagers are currently experiencing a significant increase in workload due to passing intermediate examinations and preparing for the OGE and USE, which is why schoolchildren are becoming more committed to digital threats. Masharov advised parents to help children cope with a difficult period, for example, to be interested in their studies. He explained that unsatisfactory results and unstable emotional background can also lead to aggression.
Pavel Werner, deputy head of the Siberian General Directorate of the Central Bank of Russia, reported on April 23 that scammers were offering to raise the character's level or buy artifacts in online games to involve children in their schemes. According to him, the scammers offer to sell the card, cash out the money and get interest from it, assuring that there is no criminal liability for children under 14-15 for such activities.
