Interior Ministry: a doctor injured in an attack in Makhachkala tried to save a colleague

One of the doctors who was attacked in a hospital in Makhachkala was stabbed as he tried to save a colleague. This was reported on April 23 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Dagestan.

"The attack on the surgeon had no motive. And the traumatologist who rushed to save a colleague [after being stabbed in the neck] was stabbed only because he was trying to help and save his colleague's life," the Telegram channel said.

The victim died from his injuries, and the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.

A man with a knife attacked two doctors in a hospital in Makhachkala on April 23. The investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (SU IC) of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan reported that a criminal case had been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder").

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region reported that the man who attacked the paramedics was detained after trying to escape from the scene. Later, the department added that one of the medical workers is in critical condition.
