Mobile anti-aircraft firing groups of the Dnepr motorized rifle regiment, together with electronic warfare units, destroyed more than 120 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on April 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Combat missions to cover the sky are performed by calculations of anti-aircraft installations of the ZU-23-2 motorized rifle regiment. Military personnel are on duty around the clock, eliminating reconnaissance and attack drones, aircraft-type vehicles, as well as heavy cargo octocopters. Anti-aircraft gunners work in all weather conditions.

"We reveal the enemy's intentions and organize counteraction with all types of our arsenal of weapons. New types of equipment are also being introduced, which contribute to the earlier arming of the enemy...> The personnel is in constant combat readiness. When an enemy is detected, information is immediately transmitted to all personnel who take measures to destroy it," said the commander of an anti—aircraft artillery battery with the call sign Melnik.

The unit is tasked with preventing an enemy breakthrough in the airspace. As Melnik noted, the military managed to destroy more than 120 UAVs over the past week.

On April 23, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that unmanned aerial vehicle crews of the unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces (UAVs) of the 18th Combined arms Army from the Dnepr group of forces discovered and destroyed the UAV control point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region.
