The lawyer reminded about the rules of payment for work on public holidays
Work on weekends or holidays must be paid double or compensated for with an additional day off. This was announced on April 24 by lawyer and member of the Russian Bar Association Ivan Kurbakov.
"Work on weekends and holidays is paid at least twice or another day of rest is provided — Article 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation ("Wages on weekends and non—working holidays")," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Kurbakov stressed that engaging in duties outside of business hours requires mandatory written notification of an employee. If the employer refuses to charge double the amount, the citizen has the right to judicial protection.
"The deadline for applying is three months from the day when the employee found out about the violation (Article 392 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation "Time limits for applying to the court for resolution of an individual labor dispute")," the lawyer concluded.
Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that an inter-factional bill on the introduction of a minimum hourly wage in Russia would be submitted to the State Duma. According to the draft law, this indicator should be set annually at the same time as the minimum wage. At the same time, the standard cannot be lower than the cost of an hour of work calculated from the minimum wage.
