The new tax payment will cover more than 4 million Russian families

The new family tax payment in Russia will affect over 4 million families with 11 million children. This was announced on April 23 by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova during the annual All-Russian conference "Demographic turning point in Russia: ways to achieve".

"Starting this year, an annual family payment has been introduced for working parents of two or more children with low incomes. This will cover more than 4 million families raising almost 11 million children," TASS quoted her as saying.

According to Golikova, more children are being born in Mordovia, Karelia and Chukotka, as evidenced by the increase in the overall fertility rate.

In March, the Ministry of Labor introduced updated rules for the appointment of a single benefit, thanks to which another 74 thousand large families will be able to receive payments. As a result, families already receiving the payment will be able to keep it for another year if their income exceeds the minimum subsistence level by no more than 10%.
