Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva reached the third round of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 tournament in Spain, beating Hungarian athlete Panna Udvardi. The match took place on April 23 in Madrid and ended with a score of 7:5, 6:2.
The duration of the match was 1 hour and 20 minutes. The Russian athlete made two aces during the game and made three of four break points. Her opponent, who occupies the 78th line of the world ranking, did not have a single break point out of two possible ones.
The Russian's opponent in the third round will be another Hungarian, Dalma Galfi, who has qualified.
Andreeva is ranked 8th in the WTA rankings. The athlete has five titles at the organization's singles tournaments.
On April 17, Andreeva beat the representative of Poland, Iga Schwentek, and reached the semifinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart (Germany), with a prize fund of more than €1 million. The meeting ended with a score 3:6, 6:4, 6:3 in favor of the Russian woman. The tennis players spent 2 hours and 36 minutes on the court. Thanks to this result, 18-year-old Andreeva beat Schwentek for the third time in her career.
