Yerevan hosts an annual torchlight procession organized in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide of the 20th century. Thousands of Armenians gathered in Republic Square under the slogan "The struggle continues." The footage is published by Izvestia on April 24.

"At the moment, thousands of marchers are heading to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to pay tribute to the victims of the crime committed 111 years ago," journalist Garik Abelian told Izvestia.

The march was organized by the Dashnaktsutyun Youth Union under the slogan "The struggle continues", which symbolizes the struggle for international recognition of the tragedy.

Armenians march through Republic Square with flags, torches and lanterns to the sound of drums. The marchers do not shout slogans, but silently honor the collective memory.

Sputnik Armenia reported on April 23 that the demonstrators burned the Turkish flag before the start of the event. Later, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that burning the Turkish flag is an irresponsible and unacceptable practice.
