Ukraine's public debt may grow to $300 billion by the end of 2027. This was announced on April 23 by economist and financial analyst Alexey Kushch.

"By the end of 2027, the national debt will reach $300 billion, now it is about $200 billion," he said during a YouTube broadcast posted on the News channel. LIVE.

According to the analyst, it is difficult to repay this amount of debt.

"Neither we nor our children will have to repay it, because it is physically impossible to repay such a debt," Kushch concluded.

The Ukrainian edition of "Country.On April 17, ua reported that the Kiev authorities had concluded an agreement to defer payments on the country's financial obligations to creditors from the G7 countries. It was clarified that the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Sergei Marchenko, and representatives of creditors from the G7 countries and the Paris Club "signed a memorandum of understanding on the postponement of payments on the state and state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine.

On April 15, the International Monetary Fund predicted that Ukraine's national debt would reach 122.6% of GDP in 2026, followed by an increase to 137.1% in 2027. According to the organization's forecast, the debt of the Kiev authorities will continue to grow. In 2025, the indicator has already grown sharply — from 89.7% to 108.7% of GDP.
