The lawyer warned about fines for improper treatment of summer cottages from pests

Russians may face a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles for improper treatment of a cottage or garden plot from pests. Lawyer Evgenia Baldina announced this on April 23.

"The fine for violating the rules of handling pesticides is from 1 to 2 thousand rubles (Article 8.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). A fine of 3 to 20 thousand rubles is provided for carrying out treatment near sources of drinking water supply, such as wells and boreholes (clause 4 of Article 8.42 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation)," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The specialist clarified that violation of sanitary requirements, such as dosage and processing time, can also be regarded as damage to the land and result in a fine of 3 to 5 thousand rubles in accordance with clause 2 of Article 8.6 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the lawyer, it is forbidden to use professional pesticides and disinfection products used in the agricultural complex on the sites. Baldina underlined that the list of permitted pesticides is published on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture. They are marked with the "L" symbol.

Trial lawyer Ilya Vasilchuk told Izvestia on April 17 that washing a car in a suburban area could lead to administrative liability due to violations of environmental and sanitary standards. He explained that in case of soil contamination, actions can be qualified as spoilage, for which a fine of up to 5,000 rubles is provided.
