On April 23, Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the National Media Group, expressed her deep condolences over the death of journalist, director and producer Alexei Pimanov and pointed out his contribution to the development of Russian television and the media business.
"We deeply mourn the passing of Alexei Pimanov, an outstanding journalist, director, producer and public figure. A man who not only shaped the legal culture in society, but also inspired colleagues and viewers by his example, has passed away. For more than a quarter of a century, he was the face of the Man and the Law program, earning the respect of millions of viewers for his honesty, professionalism and dedication. Alexey also successfully managed the Krasnaya Zvezda media holding. His contribution to the development of Russian television and media business cannot be overestimated. His passing is an irreparable loss for everyone who knew and appreciated his work. We express our sincere condolences to Alexey Pimanov's family, friends and colleagues," Svetlana Balanova said.
Alexey Pimanov died on April 23 at the age of 65. According to Channel One, the presenter's heart broke. The journalist's team called his death an irreparable loss.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the journalist's family. Vladimir Tyulin, General Director of the Izvestia News Center and the REN TV channel, also expressed his condolences.
According to Pimanov's colleague since 1998, director of photography Sergey Komarov, the TV presenter was decent, smart and efficient. According to Komarov, he did not know a better person.
