The schedule for the transfer of pensions in May 2026 will be adjusted to take into account the long holiday weekends. Pensioners who receive a pension into a bank account between May 1 and May 4 will receive payments ahead of schedule — up to and including April 30.
The transfer applies to all types of pensions, including insurance, social, funded, as well as old-age and disability payments.
For citizens receiving pensions through post offices, the schedule will also change. Payments will begin on May 3. If the delivery date coincides with holidays or weekends — May 8, 9, or 10 — the money will be delivered in advance, the day before.

Schedule of child benefits in May 2026: dates and postponements
The changes will also affect families with children. In particular, the unified allowance for the birth and upbringing of a child, as well as payments for child care up to 1.5 years for unemployed citizens, which are usually transferred on the 3rd of each month for April 2026, will be received ahead of schedule - April 29-30.
This postponement is due to the fact that May 3 is a day off. At the same time, the remaining payments will keep the standard deadlines. The monthly payment from the maternity capital will be received on May 5, and the allowance for child care up to 1.5 years for working citizens — on May 8.
It is specified that this schedule is relevant for those who receive funds to bank accounts. For mail delivery, the deadlines can be extended until May 25. At the same time, payments for May will be made in June: a single benefit will be transferred on June 3.
How the salary will be paid in May 2026: calculation features
Special attention is paid to wages. In May, it will be distributed unevenly, due to the number of working days in different parts of the month.
"With a five—day working week in May 2026, there are only 19 working days: nine working days in the first half of May and 10 working days in the second," Panes said.
The specific payment date is determined by the terms of the employment contract. At the same time, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, if the payment day coincides with a weekend or holiday, the money is transferred in advance. So, the payments scheduled for May 10 will be made on Friday, May 8. The advance payment will remain unchanged on the 25th.
