The total income of the VK Video platform authors exceeded 3 billion rubles by the end of 2025, the press service of the service reported on April 23. The main earning channels for content creators are an affiliate program, direct donations from users, and grants from the site.

It is noted that the increase in payments is associated with the introduction of new monetization tools and the expansion of the audience. According to Mediascope, in March 2026, the number of monthly VK Video users was more than 83 million people.

According to the service's press service, the partner program has become a key source of income: in 2025, the average earnings of authors increased 6.4 times. The dynamics continues in 2026: in the first quarter, total payments to authors increased 2.3 times year-on-year. The categories of "Children's and family content", "Games" and "News" brought the most revenue to the authors.

A significant increase in income was recorded among small and medium—sized authors with an audience of up to 100,000 subscribers - in 2025, their average earnings increased sevenfold.

"We are building an understandable and sustainable economy for authors inside VK Video. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to earn money from various sources: not only through advertising, but also through direct support from the audience and other platform tools. This model makes income more stable and at the same time expands opportunities for both professional authors and those who are just starting out," said Nikolay Duksin, Vice President of Music and Video Services at VK.

Since the launch of the support system, viewers have sent 38,000 donations to the authors. The maximum monthly income of one content creator through the VK Donat service was 2.8 million rubles. Authors use direct support tools most actively in the DIY content, sports, and music segments, where users pay for early or exclusive access to materials.

On February 9, it was reported that the VK Video video service became the most popular video hosting service in terms of audience reach in Russia in January 2026. VK Video's daily audience in January was 42.2 million people, which is more than the December figure of 41.1 million. At the same time, YouTube video hosting gathered 22 million daily users, and Rutube — 8.3 million.
