- The head of the TFR demands to open a case on dog attacks on residents of Stavropol
The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded that a criminal case be opened after stray dogs attacked residents of Zheleznovodsk in the Stavropol Territory. The investigators have complaints about the organization of trapping stray animals in the resort town.
According to the StavropolMedia news agency, the facts of the attack by a pack of stray dogs in Zheleznovodsk were reported on social networks. According to these reports, aggressive animals accumulated near residential buildings and educational institutions of the city. In April, dogs attacked a nine-year-old child and a man.
The message from the TFR information center says that measures to organize the capture of animals are not being taken, despite the existing violations.
The regional department of the TFR is conducting an investigation into this fact, but the head of the department demands that a criminal case be opened. He is also waiting for a progress report on the investigation.
Earlier, on March 20, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened in Moscow on the fact that a child had been injured by a dog bite. On March 19, 2026, a dog that was without an owner bit a young child on Suzdalskaya Street in Moscow. The victim, born in 2021, was taken to a medical facility.
