The slowdown in inflation in Russia in 2026 is a steady trend. This was announced on April 23 by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, speaking at the Russian-Serbian economic forum in Belgrade.

"As we can see from the dynamics of this year, this is (a slowdown in price growth. — Ed.) is an absolutely stable trend," TASS quoted the minister as saying.

He added that inflation slowed to 5.6% by the end of 2025 after 9.5% a year earlier. According to him, this trend continues in 2026.

Reshetnikov, speaking at the plenary session of the VI All-Russian Entrepreneurship Support Infrastructure Forum "My Business: Adapting business to new Conditions" on April 17, said that the reserves in the Russian economy have been largely exhausted, and the current economic situation is not easy. He added that the key task of the government is to support businesses in the face of changes.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 16 that the Russian government's economic bloc has many proposals on how to stimulate the country's economy. He added that proposals have been voiced that are designed to activate the economy and give it greater dynamics of development.
