Noise-proof aluminum screens were installed on the federal highway for the first time, Rusal reported. This means the transition from the development and testing stage to the trial operation of products made of innovative materials, the company stressed.

The tape for the screens was produced by the Sayanal foil rolling plant, which is part of Rusal. The installation was carried out by the PIK company. "We have specially developed a Series 3 aluminum alloy tape for noise barriers.: It will allow the screens to keep their desired shape for many years and resist dust, gravel, precipitation and deicing agents," said Alexey Agafonov, director of the Foil unit at Rusal.

Exceptional corrosion resistance guarantees durability and minimal maintenance costs, and the lightness of the structures significantly reduces installation time, said Kirill Shlyapnikov, Chief Designer of PIK.

He stressed that the road industry requires not just compliance with standards, but innovations that have been tested. "That's why we tested aluminum alloys for our noise shields. The results showed that this material is not just a new element, but the key to a qualitatively new level of road operation," said Shlyapnikov.
