Foton is considering the possibility of introducing a hybrid pickup truck to the Russian market. Alexander Parshutin, brand director of Foton at MB RUS, the brand's official distributor in Russia, told Izvestia on April 23.

We are talking about Foton Tunland series V. Currently, two models from this line are represented in Russia — V7 and V9. Both are equipped with 159-horsepower diesel engines, the second is also available with a 245-horsepower gasoline unit.

"We are currently studying the market and plan to begin the procedure for Russian certification of this model in the near future," said Parshutin.

Also, the representative of the brand did not rule out the possibility of an electric van and a Foton View minibus appearing on the Russian market. According to him, the demand for such models in Russia is being actively studied.

The day before, it was reported that production of Foton pickups and vans could begin in Russia. Working groups have already been established between MB RUS JSC and Foton to work out the localization issue, she shared. It also became known that Foton is exploring the possibility of starting production of buses in Russia.
