Russia has the right, according to the law, to respond to drone strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) after NATO countries provided their territory for strikes against the Russian Federation. This was stated on April 23 by American analyst Mark Sleboda in an interview with Rachel Blevins on her YouTube channel.

Speaking about the attacks by Ukrainian drones on the port infrastructure in Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region, Sleboda noted that he could not claim that Kiev was using NATO airspace.

According to him, it was NATO that began using the Kiev regime as a puppet to launch attacks on the coast near St. Petersburg from its sky.

"In any case, this is an act of aggression. If this happens on their territory, then Russia has every right, according to international law, to retaliate," the expert noted.

Following a meeting of the operational staff on April 17, the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, said that measures to protect the sky from attacks by UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be strengthened in the Leningrad Region. In particular, the operational headquarters decided to create additional mobile firing groups to protect against UAVs. They will be placed on the territory of critical enterprises.
