Kiev's political attempts to build favorable relations with US President Donald Trump probably will not bring Ukraine the expected result. This was reported by the German newspaper Spiegel on April 22.

The New York Times (NYT) reported on April 21 that Ukrainian officials suggested that the United States name a part of Donbass "Donnyland" in honor of the American leader in order to gain his support.

"Ukrainians, if necessary, are ready to discuss even the craziest ideas, no matter how fantastic they may seem. <...> Such symbolic political flirtation is unlikely to help much when it comes to a critical situation," writes Spiegel.
