Putin gave his glass of champagne to the Secretary General of the Boxing Federation

On April 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave his glass of champagne to Alexander Besputin, Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation, during a meeting with the winners of the boxing championships after the award ceremony.

The Head of State presented state awards to the winners of the World Boxing Championships, after which he talked with the athletes in an informal setting. Putin noted that Alexander Besputin, a master of sports of international class, was standing without a glass.

"Why didn't they pour it for you?" the president clarified and handed his drink to the athlete.

Besputin tried to refuse and return the glass to the head of state, but the president reassured him.

"They'll bring it to me," Vladimir Putin said.
