The US State Department has approved the possible sale of missiles to Lithuania in the amount of $ 214 million.

The United States may sell AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II missiles worth $214 million to Lithuania. This was announced on April 22 by the US State Department.

"This notification concerns the total number of the following MDE units: 168 AIM 9X Block II Sidewinder tactical missiles, 10 AIM-9X Block II tactical navigation units and six AIM-9X Block II aerial training missiles," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

It is specified that this deal will contribute to strengthening Lithuania's security, maintaining political stability, the balance of military power, economic progress and ensure the national security of the United States. According to the State Department, RTX Corporation will become the main contractor.

In addition, the US State Department announced the approval of a potential sale of Hellfire missiles to the Netherlands in the amount of $ 200 million.

"The Dutch government has requested the purchase of 530 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles," the publication says.

According to the department, the deal will include various types of technical assistance, books, publications, as well as other related logistics elements. The publication emphasized that Lockheed Martin Corporation will act as the contractor.

On March 6, the Agency for Security Cooperation announced that the American arms manufacturer Raytheon had received a contract worth $709 million for the production of ammunition for France, Germany and other US allies. It was clarified that the agreement provides for the supply of military equipment to a wide range of foreign countries.
