The U.S. Embassy in Beirut strongly advises citizens to leave Lebanon immediately while commercial flights are available. This was announced on April 22 by the diplomatic mission on its official website.

"The security environment remains complex and can change rapidly. We urge U.S. citizens to leave Lebanon while commercial flights are available," the statement said.

The diplomatic mission recommended that Americans who have decided not to leave Lebanon prepare contingency plans and follow the news.

The embassy's message also recommends that other precautions be taken: do not visit collapsed houses, do not touch ammunition, avoid mass demonstrations, protests, and be vigilant when visiting tourist sites.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said on April 22 that US President Donald Trump had not set a clear timetable for the end of the ceasefire with the Iranian side. She stressed that media reports about the timing of the ceasefire extension are not true.

Earlier in the day, on April 22, the Lebanese NNA news agency reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had attacked the southern Lebanese city of Tyre. It is specified that the target of the IDF was a car, as a result of the attack several people were injured.
