Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Sargsyan won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Tirana (Albania) on Wednesday, April 22.
In the fight for the third place in the weight category up to 97 kg, Sargsyan defeated the representative of Belarus Kirill Maskevich. The gold medal in this weight class was won by Bulgarian athlete Kirill Milov, and the silver medal was won by Hungarian Alex Jocke. The second bronze award in this category was won by Ukrainian Vladen Kozlyuk.
Russian athletes are taking part in a tournament in Tirana under the banner of the United World of Wrestling (UWW) International Federation. The European Championship will end on April 26.
Russian Olympic medalist Sergey Emelin won gold at the European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Tirana on April 21, becoming a three-time winner of the continental championship. It was clarified that in the final bout in the weight category up to 63 kg, Emelin defeated the representative of Moldova, Vitaly Eremenko.
