A criminal case was opened into the deaths of people in a fire in Blagoveshchensk.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case into a fire that killed people in Blagoveshchensk. This was reported on April 22 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Amur region.

The department said that during the extinguishing of a night fire in an apartment building, the bodies of two men and a 7-year-old child were found. Another victim, born in 2017, died in hospital.

"The investigative department for the city of Blagoveshchensk of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Amur Region has opened a criminal case on this fact," the publication says.

It is noted that the case was initiated under paragraphs "a", "b", "e" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two or more persons, including a minor, committed in a generally dangerous manner").

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

On the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Amur region reported that three people, including a minor, died in a fire in a four-story apartment building on Pionerskaya Street in Blagoveshchensk. Representatives of the fire and rescue units who arrived at the scene of the tragedy rescued 13 people from the building, three of whom were children. They also localized the fire on an area of 60 square meters. m. 22 specialists and five pieces of equipment were involved in this process.
