For the first time, the United States is facing a war for which its doctrine is not designed. This was stated by military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk on Wednesday, April 22. He also explained why the American missile stocks were depleted.

"The United States usually operates according to the scheme: the first missile strike, then an air raid, then another missile strike. After that, states usually capitulate. But this number did not pass with Iran," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to Matviychuk, Iran has shown a completely different war — a decentralized or algorithmic one. At the same time, the military expert said that the Americans are quickly drawing conclusions: a decision has already been made to restore Tomahawk and Patriot stocks. It will take from a year to a year and a half.

"The United States has an irreducible reserve of 15%, which allows it not to violate continental security and to respond if necessary. That is, the Americans are not at zero, but the problems with replenishment are serious," he explained.

Matviychuk believes that the Democrats can use this deficit as a political weapon against US President Donald Trump. He recalled that parliamentary elections will be held in the United States in the fall, and opponents may accuse the head of state that his rash actions in the Middle East have reduced the country's security level.

Earlier in the day, American political scientist Malek Dudakov said that Trump found himself in a difficult situation amid Iran's withdrawal from negotiations to resolve the Middle East conflict. Dudakov explained that the parties will continue to put pressure on each other, waiting for who will be the first to collapse the rear and who will have to make concessions, RT reports.

In addition, the US military in the region has used up most of its stocks of precision missiles and anti-missiles for air defense systems, and now they have to resort to aerial bombs, which means the risk of fighter jets entering Iranian airspace and destroying them.

Earlier, on April 17, Reuters reported that the US authorities were postponing the supply of weapons to European countries due to the military operation in Iran. Since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine in 2022, as well as Israel's military operations in Gaza in 2023, the United States has reduced weapons stocks by billions of dollars. These are artillery systems, ammunition and anti-tank missiles, the NSN reports.

On April 21, Trump extended the ceasefire in the conflict with Iran at the request of Pakistan until the submission of Tehran's proposals and the completion of the negotiation process. 360.ru . He added that the US military in the Middle East region remains on alert, and the naval blockade of Iranian ports will continue, according to the website. kp.ru .
