Putin congratulates pregnant boxing champion on future motherhood

On April 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished happiness to the Russian boxing champion, who is preparing to become a mother.

"It was whispered in my ear that one of you (athletes. — Ed.) is expecting a child, which is especially pleasant," he said during the presentation of state awards to Russian boxers and representatives of mixed martial arts.

At the same time, the president did not specify who exactly he was talking about.

Putin expressed hope that the champion would be a happy mother. The Russian leader added that in this way she will be able to support the demographic development of the country, which is the most important direction for the Russian Federation.
