Buryatia will receive 800 million rubles for three landfills
Buryatia will receive 800 million rubles from the federal treasury for the construction of large landfills. The facilities will be located in Ulan-Ude and the villages of Selenginsk and Turuntaevo, said the head of the republic Alexei Tsydenov.
Over the past five years, 300 out of 900 landfills have been eliminated in the region. In particular, four landfills were closed in Severobaikalsk, the Zakamensk district and the village of Ust-Barguzin. Another 37 were eliminated at the expense of republican money.
"There are more of these landfills, well, they're of all sizes, big, small, all kinds of different. Well, the number of landfills has decreased by 300 in just 5 years, and we are continuing to work with this," explained Tsydenov, quoted by IA UlanMedia.
The landfills in the Dzhidinsky and Yeravninsky districts have already been built. New facilities will be built as part of national projects in order not to raise tariffs for residents. The first works will begin in Ulan-Ude this year.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the REO proposes to ban the transportation of organic waste to landfills located near airfields within a radius of 15 km. Food residues attract birds, large concentrations of which can be dangerous for airplanes.
