- Unknown assailants beat and tried to poison a pensioner because of an apartment in Moscow
A Moscow pensioner was beaten and tried to poison — the incident occurred against the background of a conflict over a three-room apartment, which a 65-year-old woman is afraid of losing. Human rights activist Igor Companyets told Izvestia about this on April 22.
He said that in 2019, the son of a Muscovite woman was tricked into transferring shares in the living space to third parties — for this he was promised a monetary reward. The new owners transferred the property to other people, followed by legal proceedings and attempts to evict the pensioner from the apartment.
On April 9, a woman was beaten — according to her, doctors diagnosed a concussion. A few days later, unidentified men who identified themselves as bailiffs showed up at the apartment — they brought in about a dozen wooden boxes and stated that they contained the belongings of the new tenants.
Friends of the pensioner helped her carry the load out of the apartment, according to the human rights activist, they soon felt unwell. According to the Company's representative, people who came into contact with the boxes were poisoned, and the examination found that poisonous substances were hidden inside. According to preliminary information, one of the victims died a few days later.
In March last year, operatives of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Smolensk region detained five members of an organized group who fraudulently took apartments from citizens. Among those deceived were people with difficult life situations, suffering from serious illnesses and single pensioners.
