The court extended the arrest of ex-editor-in-chief of Readovka Kostylev until July 19.

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow extended the term of detention of the former editor-in-chief of Readovka Alexei Kostylev until July 19. This was announced on April 22 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Kostylev himself stated that he had lost sight in one eye and had problems with coordination. Kostylev is accused of embezzling 1 billion rubles from the Russian Defense Ministry.

The journalist is accused of fraud on an especially large scale under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Kostylev was detained on charges of fraud on February 25. The investigation requested the choice of a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention.
