The St. George Ribbon campaign has begun in Russia, in which volunteers from the Volunteers of Victory headquarters will distribute millions of ribbons to passersby in 8,000 locations across the country. The action is timed to coincide with Victory Day and will be held from April 22 to May 9, the footage of its holding is published by Izvestia.

In addition to the St. George ribbon itself, volunteers provide information booklets with it, which describe the rules for wearing it, as well as the history of its appearance.

"My father was a participant in the war, and I, for example, know all this well and really appreciate it. Therefore, let the young guys do it (distribute the tapes. — Ed.), let them not stop," said one of the passers-by.

The press service of the volunteer headquarters noted that St. George's ribbons will also be sent to the front lines along with humanitarian aid so that participants in the special military operation (SVO) can fix them on their uniforms.

"The St. George ribbon has become one of the symbols of Russia and our national identity. Every year, millions of Russians tie her on their clothes near their hearts, publish her image on social networks, openly demonstrating their involvement with the victorious people," the press service wrote on the Telegram channel.

On the same day, the St. George Ribbon campaign was also launched abroad on the eve of Victory Day in Tanzania, Armenia, Lebanon and Egypt. In Armenia, employees of the Russian Embassy, compatriots and local residents have improved the memorial in Dilijan. The complex includes a sculpture of a soldier carrying out a wounded comrade, slabs with the names of more than 400 dead Red Army soldiers and a mass grave of 22 soldiers.
