The production of the Russian SUV Sollers S9 will begin in September.
The Russian company Sollers will begin mass production of the all-wheel drive frame SUV Sollers S9 in September this year. The group's press service announced this on April 22 on social media. The presentation of the new model is planned in the near future, announced Mikhail Guryanov, head of the Sollers Product Development Center.
The SUV was developed jointly with a Chinese technology partner. By now, the development cycle and all engineering processes have been completed, and the car is fully ready for mass production. The final stage of creating new production facilities for Sollers S9 at the Ulyanovsk enterprise has now begun. The S9 SUV is based on the currently manufactured Sollers ST9 pickup truck, which in turn is based on the Chinese JAC T9.

"At the final stage of the creation of the Sollers S9, engineering work on this model was carried out entirely in Russia by specialists from the Sollers Product Development Center and young engineers from Bauman Moscow State Technical University involved in the development," the company noted.
According to Kirill Evseev, head of the Department of Wheeled Vehicles, engineers at Bauman Moscow State Technical University developed the exterior design and participated in its refinement, in particular, they dealt with the radiator grille and the optimal position of the cameras of the all-round viewing system.
Earlier, on April 15, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant had completed the modernization of the finishing paint section for UAZ cars and Sollers pickups.
