The Ministry of Economy and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany has received information from the German division of Rosneft Rosneft Deutschland GmbH that from May 1, oil transportation through the Druzhba pipeline will be stopped. This was reported by the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) newspaper on April 22, citing a response from the federal Ministry.

"Rosneft Deutschland GmbH informed the federal grid agency that <...> since May 1, the transportation of oil through the Druzhba pipeline is prohibited," the article says.

The PCK Schwedt oil refinery, which receives imported Russian oil through Druzhba, plays an important role in supplying Berlin-Brandenburg with energy resources, writes BZ. At the same time, the German Federal Grid Agency, subordinate to the Ministry of Economy and Energy, reported that disruptions in the supply of oil to PCK ultimately do not jeopardize the security of oil products supplies to Germany.

The publication notes that the German division of Rosneft is already assessing the consequences of the suspension of oil pumping and intends to prepare for new changes.

The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow was unaware of the possible suspension of oil transit from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. On the same day, the Reuters news agency, citing sources, reported that Kazakh oil supplies to Germany through Druzhba may cease on May 1.
