Meta will track employee mice and keyboards for AI training
Meta Corporation (recognized as extremist in Russia and banned) will begin tracking computer mouse movements and keystrokes of its employees for use as data for artificial intelligence (AI) training. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on April 21.
"Meta is installing new software to track mouse movements, clicks, and keystrokes on its employees' computers in the United States. This is being done as part of a large—scale initiative to create AI agents capable of autonomously performing work tasks," the agency reports, citing internal memos that were sent to the company's employees.
According to the publication, the tool is called the Model Capability Initiative (MCI). It will work in applications and websites related to work responsibilities, as well as periodically take snapshots of the contents of employees' screens.
The goal of the project is to improve the company's AI models in areas where it is difficult for them to reproduce human-computer interaction. Currently, the company is actively implementing artificial intelligence into its work processes.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on April 13 that Meta Corporation is developing a digital AI twin of its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, designed to interact with employees in real time. It is assumed that the avatar will increase staff engagement and enhance the feeling of direct interaction with the founder of the company.
