An unknown group of individuals has gained unauthorized access to the new artificial intelligence (AI) model Mythos, developed by the company Anthropic. This was reported by Bloomberg on April 22, citing an informed source.

"Several users of the closed online forum gained access to Mythos on the same day that Anthropic first announced plans to provide the model to a limited number of companies for testing," the publication says.

According to representatives of the company Anthropic, the Mythos Preview model is the most powerful development in the company's AI line, which is able to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in major operating systems (OS) and large web browsers upon user request.

Agency sources clarified that a combination of methods was used to gain access to Mythos, including access through the account of an employee of a third-party contractor, Anthropic, as well as the use of standard Internet intelligence tools. The individuals were members of a closed Discord channel, whose members search for information about yet-to-be-released artificial intelligence models. For this purpose, specialized bots are used to identify data left by Anthropic and other companies on unprotected resources.
