The assault units of the Russian Armed Forces took control of an important stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Assault units of the 58th Guards Combined Arms Army, together with cooperating units from the Dnepr group of forces, supported by artillery fire, air strikes and units of the Unmanned Systems Forces (UAVs), took control of an important stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Orekhovsky special operation area in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on April 22.

Aerial reconnaissance revealed an enemy defense system and firing points, which were later suppressed by artillery fire, air strikes and an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

"We are working quickly, clearly, and the most important thing is to prevent the enemy from recognizing where we are and our points. <...> Reconnaissance is underway. After the reconnaissance, the commanders are already telling us how to act. And we are already starting from this," the medical instructor of the assault company with the call sign Hassan shared the details of the work.

Then the assault groups on light vehicles, using FPV drones for support, swiftly attacked and captured the stronghold, carrying out its cleansing. Having gained a foothold, the stormtroopers in small groups, using the terrain, knocked out the remaining forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the occupation of the line, the units began to defend it. The attack UAVs also neutralized enemy groups on the approaches.

On April 21, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that an artillery crew of the Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the self-propelled artillery regiment of the 4th tank Division of the Zapad Group of Forces destroyed the AFU UAV control center in the Kharkiv region. After the end of the firing action, the crew turned off the combat vehicle and retreated to the waiting area, thereby eliminating the threat of a retaliatory strike.
