Two women died as a result of a head-on traffic accident in the Sverdlovsk region. This was announced on April 22 by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
"As a result of the incident, the driver and passenger of the towed Hyundai car, the women, whose identities are being established by the police, died on the spot from their injuries," a message on the MAX messenger said.
According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident occurred on 162 km of the Yekaterinburg–Nizhny Tagil–Serov highway. According to preliminary data, the driver of the Chevrolet Niva was towing a Hyundai car, but he was driving on summer tires. It is specified that due to the cold weather and icy conditions, he lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a KamAZ truck.
At the moment, the staff of the investigative task force is investigating the causes of the incident.
On April 21, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that 229 road accidents had occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 21 people were killed and 283 injured. It is specified that 16 of the dead were passengers and drivers.
