Engineers of the 4th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces have developed the first prototype of the Upyrenysh drone, which combines the best characteristics of the Baba Yaga and Ghoul unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on April 22.

"It is distinguished by its size, as well as the ability to carry a heavier warhead. Well, packages should be delivered on time. The controls are more stable and understandable. The filling is still the same," said a soldier of the Russian Armed Forces.

Izvestia correspondent Egor Kildibekov noted that the Upyrenysh is quite capable of serving as a replacement for the compact Mavic drone, while having a higher payload capacity. The new drone has already carried out several combat missions: it can be used to strike infantry and enemy shelters, as well as to deliver supplies to the front line.

"This is a mixture of the Russian FPV drone "Ghoul" and the Ukrainian "Baba Yaga". That is, the hull, the flight controller from the Ghoul, and everything else from the Baba Yaga. That is, GPS, compass, reset. The camera, the antennas, it's all from Baba Yaga. That is, now he can hover in the air, fly in stabilization," explained the technician of the unmanned systems platoon with the call sign Shipa.

On April 20, Izvestia published footage of remote mining of supply routes for formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian military personnel of the Center group of forces began using drones to perform these tasks. A reset system is additionally installed on the drones and displayed on the control panel. This allows the operator to install the ammunition and return the device back.
