Putin presented Kamensky with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded Vice President for Development of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Olympic champion Valery Kamensky the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree. This is evidenced by the relevant decree published on April 21 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"For his services to the development of physical culture and sports, award: the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree to Valery Viktorovich Kamensky— Vice President for Development of the Kontinental Hockey League Limited Liability Company, Moscow," the document says.
In addition, Umar Kremlev, President of the International Boxing Association and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Russian Boxing Federation, was awarded the Order of Friendship. Putin noted his contribution to the development of physical culture and sports.
The President of the Russian Federation also awarded medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, to mixed martial arts fighter Peter Yan and boxer Murat Gassiev for their significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports.
These awards were also received by the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Alexander Besputin, boxers Nune Asatryan, Sharabutdin Ataev, Dzhambulat Bizhamov, Elena Gapeshina, Saltanat Medenova, Ismail Mutsolgov, Ilya Popov, David Surov, Anastasia Shamonova and Vsevolod Shumakov.
In addition, the current world champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) in bridgewater, Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, was awarded the Order of Friendship.
On April 19, Putin awarded the title Hero of Labor to Vitaly Ignatenko, Director General of Public Television of the Russian Federation. It is noted that Ignatenko was awarded the title for special services to the country and outstanding contribution to the development of domestic journalism.
