Zakharova accused Netanyahu of distorting historical facts about the Holocaust
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu distorts historical facts and substitutes concepts with his claim that Tel Aviv has allegedly eliminated the threat of a "nuclear holocaust" from Iran. This was announced on April 21 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Mentioning Auschwitz, Majdanek and Sobibor in the context of Iran's threat to Israel of a "nuclear holocaust" is disrespectful to all victims of World War II, victims of the genocide of the Soviet people, victims of the Holocaust, as well as soldiers of the Red Army who liberated the death camps," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
According to her, this is inappropriate, as it "substitutes concepts and distorts historical facts." Zakharova recalled that Nazi Germany committed the Holocaust with the participation of Italy and "smaller satellites," including the Baltic states and Ukrainian collaborators. She added that in 1943, Iran, under Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, declared war on Germany.
"Since 2014, Israel has not said a bad word to the Kiev regime, which has made the executioners of the Jewish people Simon Petliura and Yaroslav Stetsko national heroes," Zakharova stressed, commenting on the current situation.
She also raised the issue of the sponsors of Hitler's Nazi Party.
"The Bank of England (not to be confused with the Bank of Iran), in particular. But in general, all those who are now behind the Kiev regime, which adopted the Nazi ideology, are killing people on national and linguistic grounds," the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
On April 19, Zakharova noted the growth of "historical aggression" abroad. According to her, Russia is observing how the struggle against monuments and memorials dedicated to the heroes who fought against Nazism is intensifying in some countries.
