Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the capital's athletes, champions and prize—winners of the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Italy. He wrote about this in the MACH messenger.

The Russian national team took the third place in the team competition. "This is a unique achievement: never before has such a small team been among the top three at the Winter Paralympics," Sobyanin stressed.

The team consisted of six Paralympians, including four Moscow athletes. In total, they won 12 medals, eight of them gold.

The mayor wished the athletes new victories and presented them with certificates for bonus payments: 4 million rubles for the Olympic champions, 2.5 million rubles for the silver medalist, and 1.7 million rubles for the bronze medalists. In addition, the three teaching coaches who trained the champions and prize-winners will be paid 50% of the specified amounts. mos.ru .

The XIV Paralympic Winter Games were held in Italy from March 6 to March 15. More than 600 athletes from 55 countries competed in them. 79 sets of awards were awarded in six sports disciplines. Russian athletes took part in competitions in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
