On the eve of the 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan, the authorities immediately declared a tsunami threat. Then the magnitude of the earthquake was increased to 7.7 points. Six people were injured due to the seismic event.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in turn, noted that no malfunctions have been detected at nuclear facilities in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami.
