The Russian national anthem is being played again at international water polo competitions. The relevant footage was published by the Russian Federation of Water Sports on April 21.

"Goosebumps! How nice it is to hear the national anthem before the start of the game! We are singing together with the girls," the message on the Telegram channel says.

The Russian national anthem was played for the first time at international water polo competitions in the last four years.

On April 13, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev welcomed the decision of World Aquatics to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in all international aquatics competitions on an equal basis with other athletes — in national uniforms, with a flag and anthem — and called it the fruit of international dialogue.

Two-time Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov expressed hope on the same day that this decision would become an example for other international organizations. Speaking about the current state of the national teams after a long absence of international practice, the swimmer noted that athletes continue to adapt to changes in the rules, including new technical assessments in synchronized swimming.
