Sales of premium cars in Russia increased by 36%
According to the results of the first quarter of this year, 29.1 thousand new passenger cars of the premium segment were sold in Russia, which is 36.1% more than in the same period last year. This was reported on April 21 by the analytical agency Autostat.
According to analysts, the premium segment grew noticeably stronger than the country's car market, which increased by only 7.3%. The share of this segment increased from 8.7% to 11% over the year.
The most popular premium brand was Exeed, with sales of 3,992 vehicles in three months. The result decreased by 11.5% year-on-year. The BMW brand, which is not officially represented in the country, took the second place with a score of 3,873 copies. Her sales increased by 91.3%.
The Tank brand is in third place (3628 units; -14.8%). Voyah (3,041 units) and Hongqi (2,552 units) completed the top five, their results increased 2.4 times and doubled, respectively.
In the model rating, the Voyah Free crossover took the first place (2,466 units), and the Tank 300 SUV, which was in the lead in January-February, became the second (2,108 units).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Lada 2107 sedan became the best-selling used car in Russia in March for the first time in 2026. In January and February, the Kia Rio became the bestseller, and the Vaz Seven, which became the leader of the used market last year, did not rise above the third position.
