A shipment of flower bulbs was detained on the Russian-Latvian border in the Pskov region. This is reported by the press service of the North-Western Interregional Administration of Rosselkhoznadzor.

Control measures were held at the Burachki border checkpoint. The attention of the inspectors drew a passenger, EN route from Germany to Russia. He was carrying 60 allium bulbs and acidanthera in his carry-on luggage.

It turned out that the owner did not have a phytosanitary certificate: a document that confirms the conformity of imported products with Russian requirements.

According to the results of the inspection, the import of bulbs into the country was prohibited, the Pskov News feed writes.

Earlier in April, it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor had strengthened control over quarantined products coming from Armenia. This, in particular, was due to a threefold increase in the supply of flowers.
