Russia hopes that the agreements reached during the Russian-American summit in Alaska will be implemented. This was announced on April 21 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference with his Libyan counterpart Taher al-Baour.

"We hope, in particular, that the agreements that were reached in Alaska will be respected and implemented," Lavrov said.

At the same time, he stressed that Russia has learned from "bitter experience", but continues to remain optimistic. The minister added that Moscow has always advocated and supports the continuation of the negotiation process, although Russia has repeatedly faced the fact that the agreements reached have not been implemented. So, Lavrov recalled the Minsk agreements.

"The Minsk agreements were a deliberate deception in order to gain time as soon as possible, or rather, to gain more time, to gain more time to turn Ukraine into some kind of significant military organization," the Foreign Minister stressed.

On April 15, Lavrov said that Russia was still ready for negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. He stressed that the negotiation process was initially initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
