A former employee of the Perm defense enterprise has been sentenced in a high treason case. This was announced on April 21 by the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Perm Region.

The agency's statement, quoted by TASS, clarifies that the court found that the woman herself contacted foreign intelligence services and provided them with information about the factory where she worked.

The defendant will have to serve 12.5 years in a penal colony. The defense tried to appeal the verdict, but the appeals commission left it unchanged.

On the same day, the Kursk Regional Court also sentenced a resident of the Sverdlovsk region, who collected information for Ukrainian intelligence, to 19 years in prison under the article on treason. He showed interest in the ideology of the Ukrainian paramilitary association, after which he entered into correspondence. The man explained that he held oppositional views and did not agree with the policy of the Russian Federation.
