Muscovites were invited to share ideas on the digital development of libraries
A project dedicated to the technological development of Moscow libraries has been launched on the capital's City of Ideas platform. Moscow residents can tell there about their proposals, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.
"We invite citizens to share their opinions on which digital services will be useful in libraries, how to improve navigation on their websites, and what would be interesting to read on their social media pages. The ideas that users and experts will choose themselves will be put into practice," Sergunina said.
The project covers libraries supervised by the Moscow Department of Culture. Proposals can be sent by April 23, and a vote for the most interesting options will be held on April 26 and 27. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss creative contests in Moscow reading rooms, the Kultleto program, which is held annually for children and their parents, and other topics.
In each library under the jurisdiction of the city, you can borrow books using a single reader's ticket. It is convenient to book literature in the Moscow Libraries service, which combines catalogs of all reading rooms in the capital. It currently contains 15 million publications. Users can also view announcements of events in libraries: creative evenings and meetings with writers, lectures and concerts, classes of clubs and sections.
Over the 12 years of operation of the City of Ideas platform, more than 675 thousand users have joined it. Almost 10 thousand initiatives of the citizens were implemented.
