Six people were injured due to the earthquake in Japan

In Japan, six people were injured as a result of a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.7, two of them were seriously injured. This was reported on April 21 by Iwate Prefecture's Iwate Nippo newspaper.

"It was reported that four victims suffered minor injuries," said Disaster Prevention Minister Jiro Akama.

In addition, two people were seriously injured.

The Kyodo news agency reported on April 20 that the magnitude estimate of the earthquake in Japan has been raised to 7.7 points. The authorities immediately declared a tsunami threat. Later it became known that the first tsunami wave caused by the earthquake reached the country.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that up to 3,000 Russian tourists may be in Japan. According to tour operators, the main tourist routes are away from the risk zone.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in turn, noted that no malfunctions have been detected at nuclear facilities in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami.
